Royal Army of Caid

Royal Army of Caid - Minutes - Darkwell War 2004

Minutes from Darkwell War 2004
Saturday 4:30 pm under the tree by the lake

Attendance:
Kolfinna kottr, Tomas mac Caoil, Athanaric Tervingi, Conrad Breakring, Ingilborg Sigmundsdottir, Mora de Buchanan, Edward the Sinister, Gregory Morgan, Rudolph Fekter, Patrick O'Malley.

General's Comments:
- At GWW, at the end of every battle unit commanders should check in with Sir Patrick. Have your 2nd in command to prep your troops while commanders hear the plans. Sir Patrick will give battle plans, then unit commanders are to spread them to their troops.
- Wants to hold a Commander's Desert party at GWW, to get together to discuss plans and all states of the army. Potentially will be invite only.
- Number tracking. Very interested in knowing actual number of fighters for battle strategies. Rumors have been circulating that a hard number count will be imposed on groups that do not meet current group requirements, this is NOT TRUE. He is well aware of the fact that the war, economy & gas prices are heavily affecting people, so this is not currently an issue. However we want good estimates so we can beat our opponents.
- Wants to help develop the war units in Central LA and help those armies grow. Will be planning on attending practices and encourage all fighters interested to contact the General or Chief of Staff.

Army:
- Command cords have been retired, as it was too confusing for many people. Plans are in the works to make baldrics with one device for those who issue commands on the field (i.e. Captain General & Staff Colonels)
- Lady Mora and Lady Inga are now staff for the Caidan Combat Archery Coordinator.
- Reorganization of army discussed again. Idea of splitting the army into North, Central and South was brought up. If this were to happen, brigades would still maintain within the regional sections. Nothing decided, put off for further discussion from all parties.
- Discussed how to better get realistic numbers of fighters for wars. One idea brought up was that every unit commander would have to submit a form that listed the war, and the names of all fighters who fought at that war along with the weapons those fighters used. Theoretically this would be done for every war, however realistically it would be done for GWW and Estrella.

Artillery:
- Javelins were a huge success at Darkwell. Looking forward to seeing more of them on the field

Army Web Site:
- Want pictures of potential enemies units for web site. Already have kingdom devices but want individual war groups devices and photos.
- Praetorium Yahoo Group should be owned by Army Chief of Staff
- Web site changed address to http://www.sca-caid.org/army/

Other:
- Comic Con Demo went great. If 1/10th of the people who said they would show up do, then easily 100 people will join the sca.
- West Caid War. Potential site is Live Oak Park in Santa Barbara. Good location, has plenty of camping, fighting fields and equestrian arena. More details to come.
